I was thinking today, why did I start a blog? Is it because "everyone else was doing it" or to showcase my crafts or because I actually had something to say? The answer eludes me....I have not crafted in months (although I have a gazillion ideas in my head)and I really have nothing of importance to say to the world, but here sits my neglected blog as I for some unknown reason, cannot bring myself to delete it. LOL I did just get a Cuttlebug, so hope to make some cards soon, so who knows, crafts may appear yet! I have never been big on journaling, so you won't see much chit-chat from me. I continue to peruse others blogs and collect ideas and inspiration, which someday, may be put to use

am I....I have not been crafting anything lately, too busy surfing all the other blogs out there LOL. Looking for inspiration for Mother's Day though, something other than a card, but haven't found "it" yet. There is so much creativity and talent out there, and they gratefully share it with the world, for which I am so thankful. So, to all you who blog your stamping, cardmaking, scrapbooking and papercrafting projects, I want to say THANK YOU! You amaze me with your talent, inspire me with your creativity and bless me with your sharing.

Ok, so here goes, 6 non-important things, hmmmmmm...

1- I manage an apt. building, but my tenants are soooo good, I really don't have much work to do, just a bit of cleaning
2- I sleep every afternoon for a good 1 1/2 hrs. If I don't, I am groggy & stuptified in the evening. LOL, but I do sleep very well at night too.
3- I rarely like anything I make, no matter how many people tell me it is good
4- I met my hubby when I was 13 and we have worked together many years...we spend 99% of our time together....and actually get along!!
5- I am up with the birds and love the quietness of the early morning
6- Hubby calls me "Tactile Terrie" as I am always touching things to see how they feel

I use Furure floor polish like others use clear coat...I brush it over my rub-ons, clear decal sheets and waterslip decals. It dries clear & glossy, is self leveling and protects so it can be washed.

Another b-day card

Made this over the weekend for my gramma - used some pink ribbon and the layered flower is once again from Fred She Said (link on the right)....printed the happy birthday on the puter. As nice as these layered cards are, they do not fit well in standard envelopes. I imagine it will be a bit flattened by the time she gets it LOL

Notecard Purse

I had this plastic notecard holder in my stash, it was ripped on one side so decided to pull it out and make a template from it. It will hold 6-8 notecards and envies, although I am sure you can all think of a million other things to put in it. Here is a pic of the finished purse, well, almost finished as I have yet to decide if I want a ribbon handle, or just a ribbon enclosure. The beautiful paper I used (my photo has washed it out) was a scrapbooking freebie from Digitreats.template can be found HERE!

WOW, 334 people have visited my blog in less than a week, yet only 3 comments....hmmmmm. But, that's ok, I'll get over it quick LOL
Anyways, I did a quick b-day card up and a keychain post-it that I found on Angie's blog here. I have trouble deciding what papers, colors, embellishments, etc. go together, but hope to learn more as I go along.

I recieved this quote in an email today and I immediatly thought of my dear friends Marilyn & David. David has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. The doctors have done about all they can do so he is now at home and being lovingly cared for by his wife Marilyn. These two people truly exemplify "the light within." They have shown how strong their trust and faith in Jesus is from the first day of his diagnosis. Even though there have been tears, fears and worries, they know God has a plan and a purpose for this and they are trusting in Him. They show everyone around them that they leave everything in His control. I am so blessed to know them, to share in this journey with them and to see His light shine through them. You are always in my heart and prayers Marilyn & Dave.....luv ya!

Mini packet template

I bought a pack of Stride gum and loved the little package, so made a template. It comes in 2 sections, the bottom folding up into the top - would be great for a gift card and tag, or small packets of candy or....I used the top part only and made a keepsake packet for a wedding day sixpence. A lady on our local freecycle was requesting a sixpence for her wedding day. I had never heard of this so googled and found it is meant for good luck. I had one here (not sure why) LOL, so I offered it to her. I decided to dress it up a touch. She seemed very pleased with my attempt so I am happy. I put the sixpence in a glassine envy. One thing I will add...I was not happy with the slot to hold it together, it did not stay closed very well, so perhaps a ribbon or velcro would be a better choice. Here is the inside of the packet.

Another week gone....

....and I have no idea where it went! Was a quiet week, cold, so stayed close to home. Did my "other" job Thursday and it was one of those days that if it could go wrong, it did, LOL but, at the end of the day, it is over & done and I am no worse for wear. I did make an Irish tile for one of my tenants awhile back and she asked me to make another for her daughter's new home. She is a sweet little Irish lady that bakes me wonderful treats, so I am happy to do it.

So, that is all the crafting I have done this week....have been cleaning up my puter though, so not a total waste!

Winter on the Praries

We have been blasted the last couple days, and for the next few days to follow, with -35 C (-45 w/windchill) temps here, howling winds and just nasty winter weather! We were spoiled with very mild temps so far, although this is not unusal winter weather. Thankfully, I work from home so do not have to brave the elements, but my thoughts & prayers are with those who have to work outside in this....mailmen, police, firemen, (among others) and those who are outside in this - the homeless. Although we have many options in my city for the homeless to get in out of the cold, there are those who, because of mental illness, addictions, and fear, choose to not utilize them. I pray for their safety, and their wisdom to accept the help offered them. I thank you Lord, for the blessings of warmth, shelter and the means to sustain them.

God will give us the strength we need to face each and every challenge that we face....when we look to Him, when we humbly ask Him for the help we need. He never once promised to eliminate the trials of life. For without these, we would not grow closer to Him. As a matter of fact, it would have a reverse effect, we would grow further away from Him. We would become independant of Him. We are all blessed with an inner strength from the Lord. But there are times when that strength is sapped, when we are running on empty.
